THE RUSSO-TURKISH WAR.

A Russian official despatch states that the Russian lors' during the battle of Oct. 15. was 1431. They are marching on Erzroum, while Ishmail Pasha is retreating, and General Ter— gukassoff following him. Mukhtar Pasha, after being reinforced, entrenched himself at Zewin, and attacked aud defeated the Russians at Bezimote on Oct. 28. The Roumanian loss at Gravitza was 900. Sulieman's main body is falling back on Rasgrad. The Russians at Karahassan and Rustchuk were repulsed, and compelled to fall back on the entrenchments at Pyrgros.
The Russians attacked the Turkish right at Kadikoi. After partial success * they were defeated, and fell back. A vigorous bombarding has been going on at Shipka. The Russian .batteries are silenced, A Russian official states that after ten hours fighting on Oct. 24, General Gourka captured with heavy loss a redoubt on the Sophia road, four guns, many officers, 3,000 infantry, and a regiment of cavalry falling into his hands. The St. Petersburg papers state that negotiations for the capitulation of Kars have commenced. A Turkish official despatch confirms the report of the junction between Ismail Pasha and Mu'khtar Pasha, who .are occupying strong positions at Kopnkoi. Oct. 29 The death of Prince Leichtenburg is confirmed" The. illness of the Emperor is grave. Apprehensions are felt by the physicians. * Persistent peace rumours are denied.
