Lokdok, Oct. 24th. ' Roumanians have thrice nnsucoessfully attacked Gravitza. ' • Russians were, also repulsed at other X posts. At Plevna severe losses. Wool is in good demand. ' Colonial securities are advancing. A Herald special says that Kars is completely surrounded. Russian negotiations for surrender of the fortress have been opened. . The Russians are advancing on Erzeroum. In the recent battle, seven Pashas, eighteen thousand Turks, and forty cannons were captured. Collapse of Turkish troops complete. Another great fire has occurred at St. John's. Two thousand persons rendered houseless. ■-..«_.
