Messrs Miles, Bros, and Co., of London, report, under date August 31 :—' Wool.—Since our last the wool market has remained without •'material" 'alteration. and all, good flocks well'got up are still in request,.and selling firmly at. opening prices, but ~ poor condition, and faulty wools are rather easier, and some considerable parcels of this ..description have been bpiightirij and will remain over for the November sales. 'The purchases oh foreign account have been vary moderate, but there are some considerable orders in the market from; America for good light greasy fleeces, of which , the supplies are limited. :■ .
Tallow and • tallow market t\&s • continued quiet, and only middling end inferior qualities have maintained late laten, the better sorts having declined about 6d. "The value to .day of good to ■ibe jNew Zealand mutton is 41b Gd to 42e ; and beef tallow 40s to 41 per cwt. The stock in first, hands is now about 5700 casks Hides are steady, and prices remain the same.
