TT THERE AS, information has been VV given to the Council, that persons are in tho habit of BATHING in, and Throwing Dirt and Rubbish into the Natural Streams flowing through the Borough of Akaroa, from which the inhabitants are supplied with water, contrary to clause 262 of the "Municipal .Corporations Act, 1876," which provides that any person convicted of any of the ab ye offences, shall be liable to a pc alty of not more than TWENTY POUNDS for each offence. Clause 257 of the above recited Act further provides, that all the powers given to the Council thereby shall apply equally to all persons and things outside, as to the same within the borough.
