INTERPROVINCIAL TELEGRAMS.
Wellington, October 13,
A fracas occured in the .street this afternoon between Mr James. Mackay of the Thames, and Mr Hislop, M.H.R. It seems that the former complained of the latter having circulate/l or repeated; a statement that Mr Mackay had assisted in making drunk -the member who was locked up and rescued on the night of the division, regarding which JDr Henry made an absurd statement in the House last night. Mr| Mackay demanded an apology from Mr Hislop, and some angry correspondence took place, the result being that the former horsewhipped the MJH.Ijf. in the street this afternoon and there 1 , was a great row. Mr Hislop showed great pluck. He seized the whip and broke it, but the two were then separated by their friends.
