INTERPROVINCIAL TELEGRAMS.
Wellington, Sept. 14. The Amoy and Shanghai line has been interrupted since September 7 ; the Penang and Rangoon since the 10th only. The route now open is between Penang and Madras, but there will be some little delay in retransmitting messages from Rangoon. A fisherman brought word here today that two fishing smacks left Port Underwood for Welling!on, and that while midway'in Cook Strait, there was a strong breeze blowing, and the gale freshened somewhat. When the crew of the foremost boat, which was a mile a-head,looked back, they saw that the Blue Bell had disappeared. At great risk they put back, but could find no trace of the boat or crew, numbering three. Lawrence, September 14. A private house, the property of Mr Meyer, was totally destsoyed by fire this morning at daybreak. The residence is situated in the suburb, and before the fire bell rang the roof had fallen in.
