POLITICAL TELEGRAM.

(FROM OUR SPECIAL' CORRESPONDENT.) Wel_ing.-t.on, August 6

The political situation is' unchanged, there has been no caucus,, nor has any platform whatever been agreed to by members op-posed to Government. Woohock's motion on the incidence of taxation would have brought on a financial debate, had it not been traversed by n the declaration of the Premier, that the Government would consider the resolution of Rees as a vote of want of confidence motion. It is possible of a financial debate may yet take place, on Woolcock's motion, but, as many members have spoken, ifc is probable the matter may drop for- the present.
