LITTLE RIVER RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

o July 28, 1877. cattle trespass. William Maine, against whom three in 7 formations had. been laid for breach of cattle ordinance, was fined ss. and costs each on two informations, the third being dismissed, as the .summons had not been served. J. R. Gilliatt and W. Coop respectively, were fined 5s and costs each, for two offences of a similar nature. Maori Jack, James Watkins, and Robert McCloy were severally fined ss. and costs, for breaches of same ordinance. A case against Robert Powrie, charged with a breach of clause 5, section 97, of the Public Works Act, pollution of streams was dismissed with a caution.
