■ Messrs H. Mafson and Co. report on the * - live stock market, &c, for the -weekending Friday, 20th July, 1877,.as follows.—2B3 '/head of. cattle, 3486 sheep, and 56 pigs constituted the entries at the Addington Yards on Wednesday last. Tnere was a . moderate attendance of buyers, .but bid- ' -dings were languid throughout the sale. Our entries comprised 117 cattle and 2491 sheep. In cattle, we sold the bulk of our entry.. The class.to hand was inferior, and prices ruled accordingly. We quote prime beef at from 28s. to 32s per 100 lbs.: milch cows, from £10 to £14 per head. Young stock and stores of all descriptions sell -freely at very full values. In sheep, we sold 211 cross-breds at 14s; 177 do. at 14s 9d and 15s ; 376 do, at 10s 6d to lis; 134 do at 12s 6d ; 205 cross-breds at 14s to 14s 6d ; 214 do, at lis 3d to 12s 3d ; sundry lines of stores at full, values. Wool Sheepskins, Hides, &c.—The catalogue presented on Thursday last at our wool stores comprised a few bales and bags of wool, 2011 sheepskins, 70 hides, and 80 bags rough fat. Butchers' cross-breds, best quality, brought from 5s 9d, 6s to 6s 7d ; secoud do, 4s 9d, ss, 5s 3d, to 5s 6d ; fleece, to 7s 4d ; best merinos, 4s, 4s 3d, 4s 6d, to 4s lOd each ; second do, at 3s, to 3s 3d each. Country skins from 2s to 4s 6d and ss, according to quality ; salted hides, 4^d; green, 3£d per lb; calf, 6d ; rough fat, 2Jd, 2£d, 2|d, 2fd per lb. Wool in bales, inferior to per lb. At Tattersall's on Saturday last 75 horses were catalogued, including the usual assortment of heavy -draught, hacks, light harness horses, and -. weeds. We disposed of a fair proportion ;vat about late values, and quote for superior .draught inaies and geldings £50 to £65, . jnedium, £40 to £50; ordinary, £30 to £40 per head. A consignment of really good horses suitable for plough would sell readily.
