In compliance with your request, I convene a public meeting at the Town Hall, on THURSDAY, 19th JULY, at 3 p.m., to take into consideration the advisability of establishing a Fire Brigade in Akaroa. AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL. rriHE Borough Council of Akaroa JL hereby publicly notify that under the terms of section 334 of "• The Municipal Corporations Act 1876" that they have established as a public pound an enclosure erected on part of Reserve No. 80A, and situate on the west side of the north-east end of Jolie-street, in the said Borough. That they have appointed Ferdinand Hahn as poundkeeper, and that the following scale of fees have been fixed by the said Council for animals pounded and for their keep whilst in the pound. Akaroa Borough Council here--L by give notice, that pursuant to " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," section 189, the Council have resolved that every person who wilfully and without lawful excuse, rides or drives any horse or other animal, or drives or wheels any carriage, cart, or other vehicle upon, along, or across any footway or any water channel or gutter by the side of any street, save in each such case upon and by, or at some crossing to be made with the sanction of the Council, shall he guilty of a hreach of the said Act. Persons wishing to have level crossings over the footways, must do so at their own cost, and agreeably to a plan and specification approved of by the Council.
