AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday, June 26, 1877. (Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.)
George Wood was again brought up under remand, charged with a rape on the person of Petra Petersein, a Danish girl, 9.V years old. The case was beard with closed doors. After hearing the medical and other evidence, Wood was fully committed to take his trial at the next sessions of the Supreme Court, Christchurch, on Monday next. The, witnesses were bound over in the afternoon, to. appear at Christchurch, on the same date. Civil Cases, h. g. watkin's v. w. jones. This was a claim to recover the sum of £2 17s. 6d. for goods sold and delivered. Judgment by consent, for the amount claimed, with costs. Thursday, June 28th. BREACH OF CLAUSE 47, OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ACT, 1868. Mrs. G. A. Obom, was charged by the police wlthrefuslng to give up to the Inspector a certain spring balance when so required. In absence, the case was proved. Fined 40s. and cots; or in default 7 days uapiiiwaiaeiit.
