AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday, June 19, 1877. (Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.) ■ CATTLE TRESPASS. George Breitmoyer was charged with allowing two pigs to be at large on the Akaroa and Christchurch road.—Fined ss. and costs. ' T. S., Johnson was charged with allowing two calves to be at large on the same road—Fined ss. and costs. UNREGISTERED DOG. J Fratez was charged with having an unregistered dog in his possession. He pleaded that the policeman was to bring him a collar and he would pay him for it afterwards. This was denied by the officer. Fined 20s. and ss. 6d. costs. Civil Cases. t. pawson v. j. blake. This was a claim for £1 10s. being damage done to bridle. Mi , . Inwood appeared for the defendant. It appears that the plaintiff's horse was tied up by the bridle to one of the posts of the verandah oi; Waeckerlie's Hotel, when the defendant's horde came up suddenly and startled Pawsoii's horse, causing it to break its bridle. A number of witnesses were examined, whose evidence went to show that no blame was attached to Blake. The Bench remarked that if a person hangs up his horse by the bridle in a public street he does so at his own risk. Judgment would be for the defendant with costs. Hi.s Worship allowed £1 Is. as professional fee. P. O'REILLY V. W. WARD. Claim for the sum of £3 4s. Judgment by default, for amount claimed with costs. G. A. OBORN V. D. GRIGOR. Claim for the sum of £3 15s. for goods supplied. Judgment by consent, for amount claimed, with costs. Thursday, June 21st. (Before Justin Aylmer Esqr., R.M.) George Woods.was brought up, charged with the offence of rape, committed on the person of a girl 9 years old. The police asked for a remand until Tuesday next, to allow of witnesses being present from Le Bon's Bay.
