The first race will be run at 12 noon. PROGRAMME. Akaroa Grand National Steeplechase, of £20. Twice round the course. 10 jumps. Weight for age. Entrance, 40s. Maiden Handicap Steeplechase, of £15, for untrained horses. Twice round the course. Entrance, 30s. Consolation Handicap Steeplechase, of £10, for all beaten horses entered for the first two events. Twice round the course. Entrance, 20s. Hack Steeplechase, of £5. Once round the course. Entrance, 10s. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entries will be received for any of the races except on this condition—That all deposits, objections, claims, and complaints arising out of the racing shall be disposed of and decided by a majority of the Stewards present, whose decision upon all matters connected with the foregoing programme shall be final. Entries must be made with the Secretary, at Bruce's Hotel, Akaroa, on or before Monday, May 21, at 4 o'clock, with entrance money enclosed, with the name, age, and pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider, must be specified under a penalty of a fine of two sovereigns. Entries arriving after the date and hour named, will not be received under any pretext whatever, unless bearing the post-mark of the previous day. Weights to be declared in the Akaroa Mail on Tuesday, May 22. The Rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to. G. SCARBROUGH, Hon. Secretary.
