The Governor holds an undress levee to-morrow. It is intended that the City Council will invite him to a banquet during his stay. It will probably take place on Thursday evening.

During debate in the House of Lords, Lord Derby intimated that Government have hope of diverting war. England is not desirous of interfering, but Government reserved the right of protecting English interests.
