ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S.

Le Bon's Bay. On Monday last a poll was taken for the election of four members to serve on the School Committee who retired by rotation. At the close of the poll, the following gentlemen were duly declared elected, having polled the highest number of votes: —Messrs George Hall, T. Oldridge, H. Elliott, and T. Hartstone. The members elected expressed a desire to meet at once but Mr. Barnett, the late chairman, declined, assigning his reason that he was entitled to hold his position as chairman, having been elected for two years. Wainui. The election of a School Committee for the district of Wainui came off on Monday last, and resulted as follows : —Thomas Warner, 18 ; James Wright, 13 ; Duncan Kennedy, 13 ; Adam Huntei, 13 ; William McKay, 13 ; Joseph Bates, 10; Alfred Watkins, 10 ; William Barnett, 10; Joseph Thomas, 10. The Returning Officer declared the first five named gentlemen elected. After a vote of thanks to the Returning Officer, the electors dispersed, being generally satisfied with the result of the poll.
