STOCK AND STATIONS.

At the saleyards on Wednesday 11,254 sheep and 646 head of cattle were yarded, the fat stock class again being represented, 12s 6d topping , the market for best quality fat cross-breds, second qualify being got off at from 9s Gd to-lOs Gd each. A line of fat merino wethers, of nice quality, but weights, was got rid off at 7s 3d each, making an average of a shade under. 2d per ]b. Two and four tooth cross-bred wethers changed hands at from 7s Gd to 8s each. Several drafts of broken mouth merino ewes sold (according to quality) from 2s Gd to 3s 3d each.

Lambs. —The supply of cross-bred lambs being large, in many cases large lines were withdrawn, on account of not reaching the owners' reserve, other lots being got rid off at from 5s 6d to 7s each.

Cattle.—The-very large supply of cattle comprised principally of youngsters from 18 months to three years old, but the competition for this class was not nearly so great as it has been for some months back. We may state that there was a considerable "drop in the prices of all classes of cattle, the different lots changing hands much below the owners' expectations. We quote for best quality beef 7s 6d per lOOlbs.
