The Okains Bay School Committee held a meeting on the 26th March, in the school house. Messrs Ware, (chairman,) Moore, Harris, James, and Wells. A letter was read from the Board of Education re incidental expenditure. A communication was also received from Mi , . 11. Binstead. informing the Board that a cheque for the sum of £3 1.45., received by him in payment for books, was dishonoured. The' Chairman explained that it occurred through neglect of presentation at the bank. The secretary was instructed to forward the account of incidental expenditure to Board of Education as requested. It was resolved to invite tenders for sinking a well for the use of school and varnishing school house. The master's quarterly salary was ordered to be paid. A public meeting was held on Tuesday evening, March 27, in the old school bouse, to make preliminary arrangements for an entertainment to be given during Easter week, in aid of the Church Harmonium Fund. Mr. Hall, on being voted to the chair, stated that the Rev. D. O. Hampton had kindly volunteered to deliver a short lecture as his contribution towards it. On the motion of Mr. C. Moore, seconded by Mr. Gilbert, it was resolved —"That a Managing Committee, consisting of Messrs Holt, Mason, and Priest, J. Wells, C. Moore, W. Moore, W. Harris, Sel'ton, and Gilbert, be appointed.
