LE BON'S BAY SCHOOL COMMITTEE
TO THE EDITOR OF THE AKAROA MAIL. Sir, —Some time ago I observed in your valuable journal a statement to the effect that the Le Bon's Bay ratepayers had passed a vote of no-contidence in the school committee, and I have looked in vain for the resignation of that wonderful body. One would imagine that these wise men of Gotham knew that a committee was appointed by inhabitants to look after their interests and to act up to their wishes ; but the "family consarn" in Le Bon's Bay seems to take supreme delight in opposing the wishes of the people and playing such fantastic tricks as make themselves and the Bay the laughing stock of New Zealand. I hear, however, that a petition, largely signed, has been sent to the Chairman, humbly asking him and his clique to resign, and that a copy has been sent to the Board of Education. I trust that the Chairman and members of that august assembly in Le Bon's Bay will show to the world that at least one small grain of common sense yet lingers in their equestrian bosoms, that they will lay down the reins of office quietly, and remember that the ninth of April is drawing near.— I am, &c, NEDDY.
