London, March 17. The political crisis in Victoria, Protection versus Free-trade, is regarded hopefully by the London Times, which says that though the free-traders may be now defeated, their triumph is not far distant. The wool sales were marked by considerable languor, and prices continued to recede. Prices average a penny lower than at the opening of the sales. 14,000 bales were withdrawn. The French buyers have been supplied.
