ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
[We are at all times ready to give expression to every shade of opinion, but in no case do we hold ourselves responsible for the sentiments of our correspondents.}
TO THE EDITOR OF THE AKABOA MAIL. Sir, —I beg to contradict a statement made in your Tuesday's issue, where it stated that the s.s. Akaroa grounded at Little Akaloa, and was there detained until the tide released her. I beg to state that the Akaroa never grounded at Little Akaloa,. and that we have eleven feet of water at low water at the end of the jetty, so that a much larger steamer than the Akaroa would not ground. I am, &c, T. 8.8. Little Akaloa, March 19, 1877. [We have evidently been mislead by the person who furnished us with the information.—Ed. A.M.]
