LE BON'S BAY.
[from our own correspondent.]
A meeting of the Le Bon's Bay Library Committee was held on January 27, 1877. Members present—Messrs. G-. Crotty (chairman), W. Foster, T. Oldridge, and Symes. The minutes of former meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman read a letter from the Provincial Secretary, stating that the sum of £10 had been allocated to the Library, and that he had written a reply, requesting the grant to be placed in the Bank of New Zealand, Akaroa. The Librarian, Mr. Foster, intimated that he would have to resign, as he had shifted his place of abode. Resignation accepted. The Chairman asked permission to pay a bill from H. Wise and Co., Dunedin, for £14 Is 3d, books purchased. Mr. T. Oldridge would object to the first item in the bill of £1 19s 9d, because it did not state in the bill what it was for, and the Chairman not being able to say, it was decided to pay the bill less the £1 19s 9d. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
