CiiRisTCHOECH, Friday Evening. Buyers' quotations, for delivery at Christchurch, are:—Wheat and barley, nominal; oats, 2s for prime old samples ; grass seed, 4s; butler, B|d; cheese, s£d ; hams and bacon, did in cloth f.o.b. Mr. Robert Wilkin reports as follows: - Wool. Since my last there have been very few transactions. A line of fair cross-bred lias been sold at 9|d per lb privately. Sheepskins: There was a good attendance of buyers at my auction sale to-day, and prices were fully equal to those of last week. The catalogue consisted of 467 woolly skins, 2229 pelts, and 645 lambskins. There were no butchers' skins. Dry country cross-breds, good to medium. 4s 5d to 5s Id eacli; merinos, small to medium, 2s 8d to 4s 9d each; butchers' pelts, early shorn, Is 8d to 2s 5d each; late shorn and bare, Id to Is; lambskins, small and bare, Is 4d to Is lid each; large woolly skins, 2s 2d to 3s each; cross-bred hoggets, Is 10d to 2s Gd each. Hides remain the same as last week. Best sound, salted, 3£d per lb; green ditto, 3d per lb; sound, well flayed, calf skins, 6d per lb ; inferior and damaged ditto, 3d per lb; horse hides, 5s to 7s 6d each; pig skins, Is Od to 2s 6d each, according to quality. Tallow: A cask of slush sold for 15s per cwt; 74 bags rough fat were catalogued, and sold at prices slightly easier than last week's; good, carefully saved, clean, fetched, from 2±d to 2id per lb; heated and inferior, lfd to 2£d per lb. Butchers would do well to pay more attention to the saving of their fat.
