FANCY FAIR.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE AKAROA MAIL. Sir,—As Mr. Douglas pbjectß to fancy fairs to raise money purposes, ' perhaps he won't "mind asSßSing the^t^—.', ting up of a few concerts " to' : 4id ,th<S " funds of 'the Anglican and Churchh," the same as they do in Pigeon \ Bay, with a few comic songs, &c.,- &c. and further by showing such a spirit *6f Christian unity, he may induce his friend, Mr. Elmslie, to influence some of his Christchurch bazaar people to send .us a,, few cases of intoxicating drinks—that is)W supposing we should feel disposed to get *** up a bazaar and should need any. Perhaps some of your readers may not agree with me in this respect, but if we are getting to believe that the end " sanctifies the means," it won't matter much.—l am, &c.,"~ VOLUNTARY.
