A PRELIMINARY PUBLIC MEETING of CITIZENS interested in ESTABLISHING a BENEVOLENT SOCIETY in this town, will be held at Beeeher's Hotel, on THURSDAY the 18th instant, at 8 p.m. Several prominent gentlemen of this town will address the meeting. BANKS PENINSULA PASTORAL ASSOCIATION. IN accordance with Clause 12 of the Rating Act, 1876, Notice is Hereby Given, that the Valuation List for the Borough of Akaroa for the year 1877 is NOW OPEN FOR INSPECTION at the Akaroa Borough Council Office, Town Hall Side-room. All objections thereto must be left at the Resident Magistrate's Court on or before the 15th day of February, addressed to the Assessment Court; and a copy of every such objection must be left at the Akaroa Borough Council Office NOT LESS than seven days before the next sitting of the said Court.
