LITTLE RIVER.
A meeting of the householders was held in the schoolhouse on the evening of the 11th inst., for the purpose of electing a member to serve on the School Committee, in place of Mr. A. D. Allan, resigned. The attendance was small. Mr. H. E. Tyson. Chairman of the School Committee, occupied the chair. The Chairman explained why the meeting had been convened, and read several extracts from the Educational Ordinance relating to the nominating and electing of members, &c, then called on the meeting to nominate a candidate, whereupon it was proposed by Mr. R. Powrie, seconded by Mr. F. Gread—" That Mr. G. R. Joblin be elected a member of the School Committee," which on being put to the meeting was carried unanimously. There being no other candidate proposed, the Chairman declared Mr. G. R. Joblin duly elected. A vote of thanks to tbe Chairman closed the meeting.
