AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD.

The usual meeting of the above Board was held at the Board's office on Saturdaylast Present—Messrs Duxbury (Chairman), Houghton, Lelievre, and Shadbolt. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Secretary of Public Works, advising the payment of £750 balance of Provincial grant, and £74 9s 2d, balance of Pigeon Bay road special grant. From W. Kenny, furnishing particulars relative to value of works on contract, Okain's Bay road, exceeding special grant. From E. Buckley, offering hia services' to the Board if required. From James Bell, stating that the Wainui road diversion had intercepted the road to Tekoa's Bay, and that a new line would be required, one-half cost of which will be defrayed by the purchaser of his property. From P. Ralf c, stating that a bridge over French Farm Creek is necessary, as the children cannot reach school at high tide without getting wet in crossing the creek. Tenders were received for various works, which with above correspondence were deferred for the consideration of the -new Board. An offer was received from Mr. R. Morris for the right to this season's grass seed on the Pigeon Bay road and portion of main road, which was accepted, The following accounts were passed for payment :— £ s d Stamps ... 2 13 0 Day labour ...• ... 1 3 0 New Acts 14 0 T.
