CRICKET MATCH.
The Cricket Match between the Okain's Bay Club and the Akaroa Academy, was played on the ground of the latter, on Monday last, New Year's Day. The play on the whole was fair, considering the very indifferent nature of the field. The local club having a decided advantage by having practised on the ground. The Okain's Bay Club was invited to luncheon by the Akaroa Club, which was supplied by Miss Johnston, and was of the very best description. Mr. Wagstaff supplied refreshments to the players during the day gratis. At the conclusion of the match, three hearty cheers were given by both clubs for each other, and the return match was arranged to take place shortly. The following is a detail of the scores:— OKAINS.
