ORIGINAL POETRY.

FAREWELL TO ENGLAND. Farewell, to happy England ! For other lands I roam, To settle down in Albertland, And find a distant home. It is not that I love thee less I seek a distant shore For oh! may Heaven doubly bless The land I'll see no more ! 'Tis not that I'm in want of friends, Nor yet for gold galore, Neither for any selfish ends I seek another shore. 'Tis that my children may not want When I can work no more, And that old age may end in peace, I seek another shore.
