Auckland Times. Saturday, 4th October, 1845.

We have Sydney papers to the 17th ultimo ; they are very bare of interest; we will make some extracts ne*t week. In another column will be found the full report of the debate in the House of Commons, In which the Under Secre tary of State announced the recall of Captain Fitzroy. Mr. Hope lets him down very easily, but it is to be observed, that a full moiety of his vagaries had yet, at that time, to be revealed in England. The Sydney Herald has the following:—

" It will be perceived that Governor Fitzroy l«a» been recalled from New Zealand ; and it was understood that Cojouei Wakefield will be r'es moved from his post by the New Zealand Company, that Mr, E. G. Wakefield will retire from the Directorship of the Company, and that then there will be a treaty of peace between the New Zealand Company and the Colonial Office "

Every thing is still quiet at the Bay of Islands. Archdeacon Hy. Williams has been using all his influence in sueing for peace. Setting aside all other dangerous and derogatory circumstances attending such a course, it is not lightly to be considered what in that case, would be the fate of our faithful ally Tomati Waka; he has steadily resisted every effort to undermine his allegiance; and if the British Lion is to succumb to the Maorie Rat, we should be at least grateful enough to provide for his amnesty. It is painful and humiliating in the extreme to write in anticipation of such disgraces, but we fear they are upon us.
