ADELAIDE.
This place is declared a free port, open to the ships of all nations without cost or charge of any kind or description whatever ; but it does not appear to us that the internal Customs are abandoned. On the contrary, the Customs duty upon the consumption of imported articles is still retained as the principal support of the revenue, without affecting the freedom of foreign trade. This change took place on the 3rd of July. Their Customs duties are very light. Their estimates for the year are 3628,978.
