Mr. Ormsby's survey of the harbour of Manakau has been submitted to the consideration ot the Governor, and we believe has been highly praised and deserves such commendation, — although every bod \ else complains of employ ment of a comparative stranger, when so many competent old hands were out of employment,

We hope that, in our little community, it \< ill be a matter of lure consideration who, whether the government or the people, shall furnish the means of prosecution and punishment of crime, but this Dili certainly unsettles the question.
