Her Majesty's Ship the North Star, arrived here on, Sunday morning, her recent cruise having been at the Tongataboo and the Wallace Islands. Religious .dissension arising, from an invasion of Roman Catholic French Priests, we understand, is likely to renew the atrocities of Tahiti and the Marquesas, in ( these places also. We hear no furtl ißr. , • Fhe North Star was so unfortunate as to touch upon a coral rock among the Islands, but escaped without further injury than that of shattering her false keel,—for the repair of this damage she is about to proceed to Port Arthur, Van Diemen's Land. , , f It was generally reported yesterday, that the North Star would convey His Excellency Captaiti Fitzroy, on his projected visit to the Southward, but it is not so ; His Excellency will wait the return of the Hazard from the Bay of Islands. Lieut, Johnstone, Ist of the North Star, it is said, will, by seniority, be now advanced* to the command of the Hazard. All in Auckland are naturally anxious for the return of the latter vessel, with speed and success attending her enter prize, the more so, on account of the suspense which His Excellency's continued delay must inflict upon the Southern settlements.
