THEATRE ROYAL.
This place of amusement will be re-opened for an Amateur Performance on Thursday next the 23rd inst., when Monsieur Tonson and High Life Below Stairs, will be put upon the stage. Between the pieces Herr Straucb, and Monsieur De Laville, will sing The Marsellaise. Since the last performance this Theatre has been shingled, made free of damp, and in many other respects much improved. The performance will be in aid of the Fund now being raised for a Library in connection with our Colonial Hospital. We are sorry that the gentlemen Amateurs could not, as they desire aud intended, have the performance on Monday but that they will have a crowded house, we dare venture to prophecy. The object is truly philanthropic, the pieces to be provided excellent, and the occasion apt. It will indeed be strange if the gentlemen Amateurs are not encouraged by a bumper.
