(Occasional Correspondent). The holidays have been very quiet here again as usual, no enjoyment whatever excepting a few picnics. .We are having very hot weather here now, and everything is completely burnt up for the want of rain, which will be very welcome when it does come. TheMatau has pulled out .of Muttontown Gully, and is now taking up a cut on the west side of the river with satisfactory results. The Unity is still idle, waiting for a favourable river. Some prospectors have- pegged off a reef on the Old Man Range above Blackman's Gully.
