Sporting Notes.
(By " Ou> Spoet.") Given fine weather, the annua! meeting of the Alexandra Jockey Olab.' '■■ to be held tomorrow, promises to be a most successful one. Up to last evening a large number of competing horses had arrived in the town, and it is certain that the various events will be keenly contested. A feature of the meeting is that the horses entered are of a distinctly superior class to those seen at previous meetings ; and even in the hack races there will Be not a few blue-blooded animals among the competitors. Mr T. Lester, the genial sport from Lindis, arrived at the beginning of the week with Capetown and Ladykiller, who are destined for the hack events. Yesterday, Mr Mason arrived with Bed Ronald and Grand Fanna 5 as also djdMr W.M'Naught with Navarro and Paparoa (maidener).
