IN PRAISE OP MERIT.
Mrs. E. MAOARtHUIk (B7 A LOCAL BBFOBMK, J The generous stirring of neighborly kindneis that prompted Mrs. Elle» Maoarthur to give the following information to our reporter has a beneficent radiation that will not be lost, upon' the residents of Woorftaugh, -Dtutedin, where Mrs.. Maearthur's house is situated on the main road. The lady mentioned began hy saying : "In the spring of last year I was ia B verydifferenPstate of health to what I am at tlw present time, for then I was ex. perienciug much unhappmesa owing to the sluggish condition oPmy liver. For a ion; time previously'l had WMfr feeling unwell, but for a while I did not take much heed of . ' my little' ailments, thinking that they would /perhaps go away as they had come—on their own account. What a sorry mistake that was to be sure ! Do you know that as last I got so ill that for six weeks! was laid up in bad, and seaffqely able to more from one side to the other. Oh !it was a tor- * ribly trying time, and I pity anybody who Buffers as 1 did then." " Was it entirely with the liver that yon were suffering ?" enquired the pressman. " It was, although at the time I did not know what was the cause of my distress, as> I thought I had lumbago, and Was treating, myself for that complaint. Thepaine in the> lower part of my back were so dreadful 1 that I had to use hot fomentations ana) poultices on the part affected ; but even those remedies only gave me temporary re. lief. When I got out of bed it was only with a.painfully slow and uncertain gait that I went about, and, being so 'righ fully weak, I soon became exhausted and had to return to bed again, where I never slept without having unpleasant dreams, - audi more often than not I did not sleep unti? morning arrived. Awful pains in the righV side and aches in all my limbs continually . harassed me, and sometimes I had to endur* headaches as well. I believe that the nastybitter taste which came to my mouth every morning had something to do with spoiling my appetite, which got very poor, and everything seemed to have the same flavor. Quito regularly I became troubled withflstulenoo after taking my food, and the pains like > spasms that came, to my stomach were almost unbearable. It looked as though I was going to be subjected to all l th« ailments that are possible* to be experienced, as, in addition to what I have already told you, 1 was frequently affected by turns of dizziness, and my nerves were gel ting weaker every day." "Ahdall'thattimoyouthought you had lumbago." "Yes; and it was not till I read a Clements Tonic book that I really knew what was wrong With me, for in iit there were several • eases just like mine, whero people spoke of beiqg cured of disordered livers by Clements Tonic, hud I' thought is wise to try the same medietas. The very first i ottie seemed to do me » little good, and when I had finished my second there was not the slightest doubt, in my miod that in Clements Tonic I had'got just th» right thing for my ailments, as by that time the pains in the small of my back were se greatly reduced that there was no more
need to resort.to fomentation* or. anything of that kind, and the best part of the whole affair was that Clements Tonic not onlj : eased me, but gave me permanent relief from my tortures. lam very pleased to be able to tell you that the pains in my side ilso went, likewise the headaches, and foe -restoring one's appetite I do not think thereis anything to equal Clements Tonic, whlob--was just as- serviceable to my nervous syfr tern, as my nerves were toned up to e nicety.- By a further, use of that rematy S received a/ lasting release from al! the paisv fulness which I had experienced when flatulence took hold of me after eating, the hitter taste disappeared, and "disziaew. ceased to affect me. To one so Weakened e j I was Clements Tonic is a sure friend, f ot Its strengthening qualities were really won . derful, and to all who suffer as Idld a yeai ago I heartily recommend a courre of the name medicine, my reason for so doing being that Clements Tonic quite cur<Sd me." " Then I may report youv remarks r" ijju* " Certainly. You may publish then QB& any way." '^F>
