Generous Testimony
m PRAISE OP MERIT.
The Case-of Mrs. E. MAOARTHURj , J (by a local rbportbr.) ( The generous stirring of neighbourly ktndness that prompted Mrs. Ellen Mf,carthur to give the following information to our reporter has a beneficent radiation that vill not be lost upon the residents of Woo«S*augh, Dunedin, where Mrs. Maoarthur'a house is situated on the main road. The lady mentioned began by saying : '•' I» tlie spring of last year I was in ft very different state of health to what I am sfc "the present time, for then I was ex» perieneing much unhappiness owing to the sluggish condition ofSny Hver. For a lon* tinae previoaj'ly t had been feeling but for a while I did not take much heed of my little ailment*, thinking that they would perhaps go away as they, had come-v-on their own account. What a sorry mistakft that was to be sure ! Do you know that at last I got so ill that for six weeks I was laid up in bed, and scarcely able to move from one side to the other. Oh !it was a terribly trying time, and I pity anybody who suffers as 1 did then." " Was it entirely with the liver that yea . wove suffering ?" enquired the pressman. " It was, although at the time 2 did not know what was the cause of my distress, as I thought I had lumbago, and was treating myself for that complaint. The pains in the 10<.'.-.r part of my back were so dreadfu! hi J had to use hot fomentations and ■iltices on the part affected ; but even '; »e remedies only gave me temporary relief. When I got out of bed it, was only with a painfully slow and uncertain gait that I went about, and, being so frigh fully, weak, I soon became exhausted and had to return to bed again, where I never slept without having unpleasant dreams, aud more often than not I did not sleep untH morning arrived. Awful pains in the right side and aches in all my limbs continually harassed me, and sometimes I had to endure headaches as well. I believe that the nasty bitter taste which came to my mouth every morning had something to do with spoiling" my appetite, which got very poor, and every-. thing seemed to have the same flavor. Quite* regularly I became troubled with flatulenc»i after taking my food, and the pains like* spasms that came to my stomach wer«« almost unbearable. It looked as though It was going to be subjected to all the ailment*! that are possible to be experienced, as, ini addition to what I have already told you, !.' was frequently affected by turns of dizziness,, aud my nerves were getting weaker every day."
" And all that time you thought you, had lumbago."
"Yes; and ifc was not till I read a Clements Tonic book that I really knew what was wrong with mo, for in ifc there were several cases just like mine, where people spoke of being cured of disordered livers by Clements Tonic, and I thought it wise to try the same medicine. The very first hottle seemed to do me a little good, and when I had finished my second there was not the slightest doubt in my mind that in Clements Tonic I had got just th« /right thing for my ailments, as by that time the pains in the small of my back were so greatly reduced that there was no more ! need to resort to fomentations, or anything ' of that kind, and the best part of the whole affair was that Clements Tonic not onlj eased me, but gave me permanent relief from my tortures. lam very pleased to be able to tell you that the pains in my side also went, likewise the headaches, and fot restoring one's appetite I do not think there .« is anything to equal Clements Tonic, whioi * was just as serviceable to my nervous ay*tern, as my nerves were toned m nicety. By a further use of that rerrisiy IT received a lasting release from all thecal* fulness which I had experienced 'Wfees flatulence took hold of me after eating, tft 1 bitter taste disappeared, and dizz'j« ~ ceased to affect me. To one so weaker ae J Zl 1 was Clements Toaio is a sure frier a d for ,ts strengthening qualities were real', v « «„ derful, and to all who suffer as I did ( & Z «?" ago I heartily recommend a courc t0 0 f th J aarne medicine, my reason for so dr ( i Mf , u. iJ, v thatf Clements Tonic quite cured i £.» ° 8 I " Then I may report your rem Ar fc ß p» " Certainly, You may publ'ah »h«m i ß v any way. .',•,' ■ v^
