Coursing Ciub.
A public meeting was held at Ophir on Thursday evening last, to consider the advisability of forming a coursing club in tbe district. There was a good attendance, and Mr W. Brooks was voted to the chair. Letters were read from Messrs Harrex, G, Rivers, and C. Huddlestone, apologising for non-attendance, and offering to support the.movement. After a short discussion, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Kennedy, seconded by Mr Whyte, that a coursing club be formed, to be called the Blacks Plumpton • Coursing Olub. Mr T. Duggan wis appointed secretary and treasurer. The following were appointed a committee to canvass the various districts : —Messrs W. Brooks, D, M'Rae, J. Kennedy, Whyte, B. Flannery, D, Brown, W, Holloway, A. Praser, T. Frewen, R. Eady, P, Conway, W, B. Hawson, W. Paul, R. Mitchell, (Ophir and Omakau), D. Moran, G, Moran. A. Kenny, D. Dermeny, G. Francis, J, Sheppard, J. Wilson, R. Wilson, (Lauder), F. Harrex, (Rough Ridge), R. M'Mamara, J. D, Buchanan, T, P. Beck, E. Marslin, W. Noble, S. Cameron, L. Caurson, G. Hastings, F. Gay, G. Field, C. Paget (Alexandra), W. C. Pitches, Jas. M 'Arthur, Jas. Brown, T. J. Grant (Clyde), W. law, C. Huddleston, W. M'Donald (Spottis), H. C. Weir, R. Rutherford, W. M'Breen, W. T, Dundass, J. J. Dundass (Ida Valley), J. Beattie jnr., (Cambrians), F. M'Gregor (St Bathans).
It was resolved that the membership fee be £1 Is.
It was rasolved that the committee appointed to canvass for members and subscriptions return the lists by November, 24th (court-day), and that a meeting be held on that day at 3 p.m at Mr M'Rae's hotel. / H ,
The secretary was itistructecLVto write to the Forbury Park Cou'rsing Club, asking for a, copy of their rules, and other information. It was resolved that the secretary interview the Lauder Domain Board with regard to holding meetings on the Matakanui Park Reserve. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
