The Oaulfield Cup, run on Saturday Rist, resulted as follows : —'Murmur 1, Acrasia 2, Emir 3. Gladsome, the N.Z. representative, was prominent during the race, but did not manage to stay the distance, and was unplaced. Owing to the Tapanui Racing Club abandoning its meeting this season, its totalisator permit will, with the sanction of the Colonial Secretary, be transferred to the Eorbury Park Racing Club. The owner of Murmur, the winner of the Oaulfield Cup, collected £30,000 over his horse's win. Mr E. Marslin's well-known trotter Eleata 8,, last week gave birth to a fine health-looking filly foal, sired by Rothschild, If the youngster stands to her breeding, which is about as good as anything in N.Z., she should be able by*and-bye to repay her owner handsomely.
