Land Board.
The following business of local interest was transacted at last week's meeting of the Waste Lands Board : Ranger O'Neill reported on the following sections in block VIII, Town of Manuherikia:—2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. 12, 15, 19 and 22—Received. Consideration was given to the application by James M'Quckin for a lease in perpetuity over sections 2, 10, and 45, block I, St, Bathaus district. The Inspector of Mines and ths Warden forwarded reports. Portion applied for, outside the coal-bearing area, to be reserved for approval as a 1.i.p.; capital value 20s per acre. The warden forward ?d a report on the applicition by M'Adie Bros, for an occupation with right of purchase license over an area of 334 aqres, Fool? burn district—Held over.
Ranget O'Neill reported on the ap° plication by S T Spain to be allowed to fell certain trees and to make alterations at the Earnscleugh homestead. —Report approved and permission granted. Ranger O'Neill reported on the applie ition by Henry Scott for a grazing license over an area between his small grazing run and the Manuherikia River.—License granted 5 rental 12/6 per annum. Ranger O'Neill reported on the application by Mrs 0 Barry for an occupation le se over 10 acres in tyock X, Leaning Rock district.—Application granted, rent 6d per acre.
Alteration in the area of land held under pr-, 1 ral license, T". ns 221, 221e and 22 Ih, Andrew Jopp.—Area to be reduc Ito 16,264 es, and rent to £3lB/3/10, from September 1. G H Paul wrote asking for permission to cut down one willow and one poplar growing ar the river crossing, about tin- n les from Galloway Station.—Referred to the station manager.
