Reserves Conservation Society.
The annual meet to? of the Alexandra Receives Conservation Society was held in the Public Librar* on 36th Jaly. The report and balar>ce**heet (showing a credit balance of £l9 4s Sd) were adopted. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensaing year: —Pr esi dent, Dr Gregg; vlec-president. Mr L B Grimstone; hon secretary and treasurer. Mr J K Bartholomew ; committee, Messrs Salman, Simon sen. Ryan, J JO'Kane, 3D Thomson, J Smith, Murray, Gloss, aad Terry. Arbo' Day was fixed for Ist September. The report of the retiring committee stated that over 100 trees were planted in the Recreation Reserve on Augast 23th last, and that 90 per cent et them were (('owing well, the splendid resales far exceeding the society's expectations. An area along the Boronerh water->r«oe had been fenced in, and planted with some 200 poplar slips, most of which had mart* considerable growth daring the summer.
The members of the society ere to be heartily congratulated on the good work they have already done, and it is confidently expected the public will afford a full measare of support to the Society this year.
