The Pahiatua bye-election will be held on July 28th. Telephonic . communication has been established between Ophir and Ohatto Creek. There are at present over 200 men working on the Otago Central nailway works betwscn Ophir and Chatto Creek. So far, the present winter has been one of the mildest experienced in this district.
