Alexandra School.
The adjourned meeting of householders for the purpose of electing a committee for the Alexandra School was held on Saturday evening last, when some 22 househo'ders were present. Mr H Schaumann was voted to the chair. The following gentlemen were nominated to form the committee :—Messrs H Schaumann, A Ashworth, A Williamson, P Campbell, A Kennedy, A Bruce, P McKellar and J Travis. On a ballot being taken, toe firstnamed seven were declare-.! elected. At a meeting of the newly-formed committee, held subsequently, Mr H Schaumann was electel chairman, and Mr F Young was appointed clerk of the committee.
