TO THE EDITOR. Si*.—ln Saturday's « Ofcago Daily Times " I noticed a letter headed 88 An Insanitary Town." The town referred to is,- Hokitika, and, although it "has been in existence for nearly forty years, there is no system of underground drainage, nor is there any pro* vision made foi the removal of nightsoil, each householder disposing of it »s he thinks fit. For a supply of water, the^inhabitants'have to depend entirely on the rain water caught from the roofs of their houaes, -v :i' On reading th&V letter, no* but contrast the condition of Alexandra with that of Hokitika, a |owa of aboul 2000 inhabitants.
