The river roe* slightly at the and «f last week, but has fallen again to ft little ortr the Aft mark, with a downward tendency. The nugget turned the scale at Soa ddwt sgr, The Manuherikia dredge is uphold* ing her reparation as a champion goldwinner, and indications are not wanting ! to lead us to surmise that the splendid ; returns of the ptst week or two will be continued throughout the season. The dredge is operating on a eut extending almost right across the river, on ground which has been previously dredged by, a smaller machine. Sib, —I notice that, under the new management, the Perseverance Dredging Oo.'s now dredge was last week pulled ahead covers! lengths. The previous management always carried out—and with much success, tooths sound policy of working the claim in a face. Now, what I want to know is: Are the now director* trying to got on to hotter ground, or are they (a* the man in the street insinuates) making a atert to pick the aye* oat of the claim f I'm inquisitive, and I'd just like to know,—l am, Ac., AUBMIDB*.
