Football.
The annual general meeting of the Alexandra Football Club was held in the Criterion Club Hotel on Saturday evening last, 9th inst., when there were about 20 members present.
The balance-sheet showed that the club starts the season with a debit balance of £2 5s Bd, but judging by the enthusiastic nature of the meeting the club should havs a very succesahu season.
The following officebearers were elected for the ensuing term :—Prr< sident, Mr S Cameron j vice-presi-dents, Messrs Bellamy, Gorman, Outred, M'Queen, Bartholomew, S Came* ron, Buchanan, J Rivers (sen.), J F Thomson and B M'Namara ; deputy captain, Mr T Wheeler ; general committee,, Messrs J Norton, W Paul, E King, L Churchill, B Maitland and T Wheeler; match committee, Messrs JR Cairns, W Burnside, and J Morgan ; secretary and treasurer, Mr W 8 Edgecombe. It was decided that the captain should be. elected at the first club match.
The opening day was fixed for Satur« day next, 16th inst., when all members and intending members are invited to attend.
