"VERY LIKE A WHALE."
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln your last issue the discovery of the lower jaw of a sperm whale is reported. Oan any of your readers say if this extraordinary tale ia true, or has it to be taken with salt, and placed in the same category as the Earnscleugh petrified dogs of two years ago? Really, some people will believe anything! I was talking to a gentleman only last night, who said "he would not be surprised if this lower jaw finally turned out to have belonged to that dreadful monster of the deep that swallowed Jonah." Just fancy! —I am, &c, Kathleen.
