Y., September 10 and 11, at the University of ~* Ealo. This society was founded a* '!6, 1900, at St. Louis. Mo., and lias now over 500 members in the United States and Caeada, with many corresponding members in England. Germany, France, Austria, Russia and also India, 'die object of this society is the adneement of the knowledge of practical X-ray work and allied arts and ■dfeui—s; t!.e promotion of this branch of surgery and medical science; systematical original research; the uniformity of support to tbe inventive talent and promotion of hari|fnony and fraternity in the professions dzTottil to this science; the pro- ; eection-of the interest of the memfreie and the promotion of all meas«rc» adapted to the practical application of the X-ray for the benefit of the community and physical improvement of man. At the first meeting of this society it was fonr.d beyond doubt that the X-rays «re the greatest and-most certain diagnose assistant ever offered profession, but require tech* nical knowledge for proper application of the same. Secondly, the Xrays have remedial properties in some leeeses. These facts were demonstrated at the first meeting and will ceceive proper attention in September at the Buffalo meeting, especially through the reports of the different committees named for this purpose. The range of usefulness which the X■ay has reached will be emphatically, brought out at the coming meeting. Out of the many thousands of skiagraphs taken in this country sinoa this discovery by Roentgen, a selection will be made and the best exhibited.
