The following business of local interest was transacted at last week's meeting of the Waste Lands Board:— E Harris, on behalf of the lessee of Run No 262, Galloway, applied for a reduction in rent on account of the dam erected by the Alexandra Bonanza Gold Dredging Company, Long Valley, submerging some 1400 acres of the best country on the run.—Referred to the ranger for report. Kanger O'Neill reported on the application by H H Hewitt for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 100 acres on Run No 261 a, Poolburn district, which was declined. An application by John H Keddell for an occupation lease under "The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 25 acres on Run No 249, Leaning Rock District, on which the warden forwarded a report, was referred to the ranger for report. An application by Donald G Gunn for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 30 acres on Run No 221, Leaning 3 lock District, and on which the warden forwarded a report, was ref errad to the ranger for reportj
A letter from District Surveyor Wilmot in regard to occupation lease granted Catherine Felton over 30 acres at Prospect Flat, Leaning Rock District, was received—-D S Wilmot advised that, as proposed to be surveyed to comply with survey regulations, the ' area would be unsuitable, Miss Felton' ' therefore declines to accept it. Previous resolution of 8/4/1903 re this grant was rescinded. The Assistank-chief Inspector of Stock forwarded a letter from Stock Inspector Taylor in regard to the license granted F McCarthy over section 1, block x, Leaning Rock district— Grazing license granted to F M'CJarthy on October 7 last cancelled.
