Masonic.

On Tuesday evening last, the annual installation of W,M.'s and investiture of officers of Lodge Manuherikia Kilwinning and Lodge Dunstan took place in the Alexandra town hall. The installing officers were MW Bro Niccol, PGM, Grand Secretary, and R W Bro J M Brown, Grand Super* intendent of Otago; the Grand Lodge officers being assisted during the ceremony by the following :—P M Bro Hiochliffe, Acting-GDO; PM Bro J D Thomson, Acting SGW 5 PMBro T P Beck, Acting-S JW| P M Bro J G gloss, Acting-S G D, and P M Bro S Mcknight, Acting-S J D. There were about 60 bretheren present, many of whom were visitors from distant lodges (two hailing from lodges in Scotland), and the ceremony wag a most impressive one. ; v ; - Bro.'s D Bringans (Lodge Manuherikia) and J Smart (Lodge Dunstan) were duly installed, according to ancient custom, as WM% -of the respective.lodges for the current year ; and subsequently the following officebearers were duly invested : Lodge Manuherikia Kilwinning.—lP M, Bro E W Eaton; SW, Bro W Bringans: JW, Bro A Phillips; Treasurer, P M Pro J G CI oss; Secretary, P M Bro T P Beok ; Chap." lain, Bro J M'Laren; SD, Bro W Nicholsc» ; JD, Bro W Oarr; Stewards, Bro"s Bluest* and Walker; IG, Bro Dumsday; Tyler. Bro G R M'Gregor; Organist, Bro E P Ford. Lodge Dunstan.—S W, JBro W 0 Jamie? son ; J W, Bro J M Knight; Treasurer, Bro J Bodkin; Secretary, Bro G Pache ; SD, Bro T Jamieson ;J D, Bro T Holden; IG, Bro S Welsford; Steward, Bro OM'Bae: Tyler, Bro R Robertson. After the installation ceremony, the Grand Lodge officers anil visiting brethren were entertained at a banquet in themasonic hall, when, after supper had been partaken of, the customary" toasts were honoured according to masonic custom. The catering was in the hands of Bro E Bellamy, of the Bendigo Hotel, who cannot be given too much praise for t&& excellent and sumptuous manner in which the tables were laid—in fact,,it was generally admitted by the visitors that the catering was quite equal to the best obtainable in the cities. /
